About Us

Gramya Bharti Vidyapeeth is a Govt. aided institute promoted by Sashtri Shikchan Samiti, an educational society incorporated under M.P. regd. Act No. 6834 Dated 8 Sep. 1978. The chairperson of the educational society and chairman of the governing body is one of the great philanthropists and renowned educationist of this region, Shri Bodh Ram Kanwar, M.L.A. Katghora constituency. The College, established in july 1983, has emerged as a pioneer institution of its kind in the north Chhattisgarh. The college hosts about 1300 students in different disciplines and spreads over 57 acres of land at Hardibazar, situated in the heart of the Coal belt, 4 km away from SECL Gevra Project. The college is affiliated to Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur (C.G.) and registered under 2f and 12B acts of University Grants Commission, New Delhi.

Vision

Our mission is to facilitate comprehensive and integrated development of individuals for an effective function as social beings and our vision is to become a centre of excellence of learning. The main objective of the college is to develop as a multipurpose institute offering modernized, job-oriented, unconventional and restructured courses to the students coming from the coal belt and the students belonging to schedule castes and schedule tribes of this tribal area along with others. Our vision claims innovation with the introduction of the course of MCA and M. Sc. Information Technology.

·     To provide quality education to the students of this tribal area to make them self-sufficient and inculcate in them values of self-respect, mutual respect, oneness among the college fraternity and enable them to develop a sense of pride towards the institution.

·     To cater to the educational needs of the socio-economically weak section of the society and motivating them for research and innovation and providing job opportunities for these local students locally using the limited resources in the local industries.
